What’s Next: Striving for happiness after heartbreaking loss
It’s been 13 years in the making.
Introducing What’s Next. It’s not exactly the book that Robert set out to write, but it’s the book that, for some reason, he was meant to.
At some point in life, we each experience loss. How we respond to it, though, varies dramatically. This book is an intimate telling of Robert’s personal journey after a catastrophic Spinal Cord Injury, and his approach to moving forward to find happiness and purpose. Robert’s hope is that by sharing his story and road to Kona, he might help others dealing with their challenges and maybe even inspire their goals.
Robert would like to thank everyone who helped him along his journey, and especially Sabrina, for in addition to so many things, allowing him to share so much of their personal lives with all of you.

Robert had to learn how to rebuild his life and recover his dreams from a new perspective: sitting in a wheelchair afflicted with chronic neuropathic pain.
Robert’s epic journey involves adversity, heartache, and tragedy. But his positive mindset and philosophy of life helped him adjust to his new life while pursuing the ultimate athletic challenge: the Ironman. As a paratriathlete, Robert pushes his body and mind to their limits, overcoming all barriers on his own personal road to Kona…
